Wascana Place Unveils New Visitor Information Kiosk
The Provincial Capital Commission, Tourism Regina and other partner organizations today unveiled a new tourism kiosk at Wascana Place, that will provide in-depth information to visitors about Wascana Centre and other Regina attractions and events.
“Tourism is an industry that is important to Regina’s economy,” Minister Responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Ken Cheveldayoff said. “Every attraction and venue that a visitor sees and enjoys leaves an impression on them about our capital city. The easier and more entertaining we can make it for visitors, the more likely they are to return and recommend Regina as a destination to their friends and family.”
The kiosk, located inside the Wascana Place building at 2900 Wascana Drive, contains tourism-related material, such as maps and brochures on a variety of things to see and do in the Queen City.
Staffed with tourism experts, the kiosk also includes iPads to assist visitors seeking more information, and a virtual reality headset to give them a glimpse of some of the attractions around the city that they may wish to check out in person.
Designed to support Tourism Regina’s Visitor Strategy to enhance visitors’ experience in the city, the kiosk will also be used to collect data on who is visiting which Regina attraction, and why. The information will help Regina’s tourism-related businesses and events better meet visitors’ expectations.
The kiosk is available for everyone to use from 12-5 p.m. daily, until Tuesday, August 28.
