Strong Wholesale Trade Growth
Wholesale trade in April 2017 increased by 13.0 per cent (seasonally adjusted) over April 2016—the second highest percentage growth among the provinces, and higher than the national average of 10.3 per cent.
“The sustained growth of Saskatchewan’s wholesale trade highlights continued confidence in the province’s economy,” Economy Minister Jeremy Harrison said. “Our strong manufacturing and resource sectors are all contributing to this growth, attracting investments and new opportunities that are helping to move Saskatchewan forward.”
On a monthly basis, wholesale trade increased by 5.4 per cent between March and April 2017 (seasonally adjusted), the second highest percentage change among the provinces and well ahead of the national average of 1.0 per cent.
Wholesale trade totalled $2.3 billion in April 2017.
