Saskatchewan Ferry Season is Ending

With our rivers and lakes freezing, Saskatchewan’s ferries are dry docked for the season.  The Riverhurst Ferry was the last ferry running and shut down on December 14.

The Government of Saskatchewan operates 12 ferries and one barge across the province.  Saskatchewan’s ferries typically run from April to November, but operations and scheduling depend on weather and freezing.

We would remind the public that activity on ice has risk, and to check ice thickness before walking or driving on it.  Be sure to check the Highway Hotline for road conditions and ferry closures before you travel.
