PCC Tea With A Twist Honours Saskatchewan Military Families
The Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) and Provincial Military Liaison hosted the first annual appreciation tea at Government House on Victoria Day in 2019. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the in-person 2020 tea was cancelled. To show appreciation and continue this tradition, the PCC is bringing the tradition of afternoon tea directly to military families in the comfort of their own homes.
“The sacrifices that military families make for our country are appreciated and we want to acknowledge their contribution,” Provincial Military Liaison Greg Lawrence said. “The Tea with a Twist package is a small gift that provides families with the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience together at home.”
The Tea with a Twist packages include everything needed to host a traditional afternoon tea. Fifty packages will be delivered to our Saskatchewan military families on September 10, 2020. The packages are home-made by volunteers from the Government House Historical Society and will be delivered to the Military Family Resource Centre in Regina.
The kits include:
- two tea cups;
- four scones;
- one package of special tea blend;
- two butter tarts; and
- a letter of gratitude from Provincial Military Liaison and Moose Jaw-Wakamow MLA Greg Lawrence.
The PCC and Provincial Military Liaison are grateful to the Canadian Armed Forces and their families for keeping our country strong, free and safe.
