October Wholesale Trade Rises to Record

October wholesale trade numbers were up in Saskatchewan, rising 3.6 per cent over September (seasonally adjusted), the highest percentage increase among the provinces.  On a national basis, wholesale trade figures dropped by 0.6 per cent.

Wholesale trade totalled $2.4 billion in October, the highest ever for the month.

“Given the current economic uncertainties around resources, it is very encouraging to note that wholesale trade is hitting record levels in the province,” Economy Minister Bill Boyd said.  “We were one of only three provinces to see month-over-month increases which speaks to the diversity and the strength of our economy.”

On an annual basis, trade was up 1.9 per cent over last October.
