Province Supports New Habitat for Humanity Build in Moose Jaw

A Moose Jaw Habitat for Humanity partner family will soon improve their quality of life through homeownership.  The province, through Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, is contributing $65,000 in financial support toward the home, located at 810 Ominica Street East.  The home will consist of a 1,000 square foot (93 square metres) four-bedroom bungalow.

Improved Personal Care Home Inspection Information Now Available Online

Saskatchewan residents can now access improved personal care home inspection information onwww.Saskatchewan.ca. The new electronic (tablet) reporting system for inspectors ensures more accessible, detailed reports regarding personal care homes are available to the public – a recommendation previously made by both the Provincial Auditor and the Saskatchewan Ombudsman.

Assistance to Remove Employment Barriers for People Living with Disabilities

An agreement between the Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Abilities Council will provide $904,438 in funding to help the council deliver its Partners in Employment program.  The program offers a range of services to both individuals and employers to assist people living with disabilities in Regina and Moose Jaw.

MS Panel Submits Recommendations to Government of Saskatchewan

Today, Health Minister Dustin Duncan received the recommendations of the 11 person Multiple Sclerosis Advisory Panel of Saskatchewan.  The panel’s report suggests options for improving treatment and support for people with MS and their caregivers, while expanding Saskatchewan’s capacity for MS research and education.

Most Popular Baby Names in Saskatchewan for 2015

eHealth Saskatchewan released the top 20 baby names for 2015 today.  Liam was the most popular name for baby boys for the sixth year in a row and Olivia was the most popular name for baby girls.  The second most popular names were Noah and Emily.
