First elected in 1999 as the MLA for Redberry Lake, Randy was re-elected in 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2016 as the MLA for Biggar-Sask Valley.
While in opposition, Randy served as critic for Highways and Transportation, Environment, Labour, and as deputy critic for Immigration and Information Services Corporation.
Randy also served as Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on the Economy and on the Standing Committee on Crown and Central Agencies, Standing Committee on House Services, Standing Committee on Agriculture and the Standing Committee on Non-Controversial Bills.
In government Randy has served as Deputy House Leader, Deputy Government Whip, Government Whip and as the Minister responsible for Rural and Remote Health. He is currently Government Caucus Chair, a member of Public Accounts Committee, Privileges House Committee and the Private Bills House Committee.
Randy was born in Biggar and grew up on the nearby family farm. He studied at the University of Saskatchewan and received a diploma in Agriculture before returning to farm and ranch with his family. Randy and his wife Cindy make their home near Biggar.
