Colleen Young

Lloydminster

Colleen was first elected to the Saskatchewan legislature in a November 13, 2014 by-election for the constituency of Lloydminster. She was re-elected in 2016 and 2020. Colleen serves as chair of the Standing Committee on the Economy and is a member of the House Committee on Privileges.

Supporting, helping and finding answers to constituents concerns and challenges has always been a very rewarding part of her role as an MLA. Staying involved and engaged in the community is very important to Colleen.

Colleen was born and raised on a family farm east of Saskatoon and has called the Lloydminster riding home for the last 33 years. Colleen attended the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan beginning in 1979 and has been active in education ever since. Colleen was a trustee of the Lloydminster Public School Division Board of Education for 20 years and served as the board chair for 16 of those years. Colleen is very active in the Lloydminster community. Involved with the Kiwanis Club, Learning Council, In Motion, Young Life, school community councils, and many other volunteer opportunities, she has always put kids, families, and newcomers to the community first.

Colleen and her husband, Kim, have one daughter, Nevada, and seven sons: Casey, Chester, Riley, Fraser, Percy, Duke, and Ace, two wonderful daughters-in-laws, Jessica and Chantal, four beautiful granddaughters, Pearl, Belle, Hazel and Ruby, and one grandson, Beck. She enjoys spending time with her family and close friends at the lake or whenever the opportunity arises.
