A STRONGER SASKATCHEWAN...

On October 21, 2008, Premier Brad Wall made an historic announcement. Acting on the priorities of Saskatchewan people, our government is using the unbudgeted $3.1 billion surplus to:

Make historic tax cuts which will help Saskatchewan people, regardless of age, income level or marital status, address the higher cost of living.
Pay down the debt by a further $1 billion, which will save the taxpayers of Saskatchewan hundreds of millions of dollars in interest payments. In less than a year, our goverment has reduced the debt by 40 per cent, from nearly $7 billion to about $4.2 billion.
Invest a further $500 million into building and rebuilding an infrastructure system neglected for far too long.
Maintain a $2 billion balance in the Growth and Financial Security Fund, to ensure we are able to protect health, education and social programs during this time of economic uncertainty.
